Gratuitous happy baby selfies.

This is a counter point to my previous blog post.  Yes, I’m gross sometimes.  But other times I laugh with my happy baby in my sun filled room and think “Y’all, it gets no better.  NO BETTER!”

Henry happy baby best friend love bug rosy cheeks.

I think the hymn, Come Thou Long Expected Jesus, sums parenthood up completely.  Darkness, grossities (I made that word up), and struggle compounded upon joy, brightness and snuggles.

“Come to earth to taste our sadness, he whose glories knew no end;
by his life he brings us gladness, our Redeemer, Shepherd, Friend.
Leaving riches without number, born within a cattle stall;
this the everlasting wonder, Christ was born the Lord of all.”
