One of the perks of being a Navy wife is moving every 2-3 years. This time around Nick and I decided to spice up our move by throwing in a newborn and a toddler. And a cat. (Nothing like sharing your hotel bathroom with a pan full of kitty litter!) Don’t worry, we tranquilized the cat. Also, don’t worry- we did not tranquilize the children.
I would like to share with you the Navy moving experience through photos, as I consider myself a BA photo journalist…
First, a team comes out to pack up your stuff. You have to stay and supervise. That is, let Nick supervise while you chase babies and toddlers.
Sometimes they come for two days. Ours did.
Poor Molly sweltered in the 100+ heat index. Oh, and Molly is out there b/c she can’t be trusted around strangers.
At first Maisy was excited.
Then she was bored.
Then when the moving truck came to be loaded (day 3) we all made base camp on the king size bed.
And so we packed up to go to the luxurious Econo Lodge. And of course I’m being facetious, that place was infested with cockroaches. I didn’t see them, but I felt them.
Owen found things to climb in or on b/c he’s a mountain goat. And also he went swimming!
Finally we roadtrip to our final destination. While getting increasingly fat and sick off of fast food!
And finally, finally, we put up just ONE more picture of that baby smile!
